Children’s Ministries

Take a look around and get to know our Children’s area. From Parent’s Day Out to a Bible retreat, we help your child to grow in a relationship with Jesus all while making friends and having a good time!

Child care is for infants to 2 years old during Sunday School and up to 4 years old during Worship Service.

Sunday School – 9:15 am to 10:15 am

From the ages of 3 years to 5th grade children meet on the third floor in classes divided by age with dedicated teachers. Come enjoy worshiping and having a great time with us on Sundays!

Worship 101 – 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Why do we come together to worship?
What do the parts of worship mean?
How does our experience relate to how Jesus grew in his faith?

Worship 101 is a transition plan to assist 3rd graders in learning why we worship together. We also want to help them engage in worship so they may grow in their faith and equip them to grow in the likeness of Christ.

Each month a different aspect of worship is studied.  On one Sunday the children meet in the church library with their Worship 101 teachers. On another designated Sunday during the worship service, the children sit in the service with the adults who taught the prior week’s lesson and have a very short debrief in the pews at the end of the worship service to be certain they understood the particular aspect of worship studied during the month. Different couples/pairs of church members teach the sessions.  The schedule varies upon availability of the leaders.   Watch the calendar and announcements for the next date.

Sunday: 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Mission Possible – Room 323 in the Children’s wing

Mission Possible is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.  This activity is held two Sundays each month from 5:00 to 6:00 pm on the third floor of the Education building.  Join “God’s special agents” as we complete missions for people around the world.  We are learning to serve and give to others less fortunate than ourselves.  Missions have included bandana buddies for Ghana and Africa; food drive for Irving Cares; heart pillows for Syrian refugees; and much more. We are Mission Possible Kids!

The Little Things

Cry Room

In the back of the Sanctuary is our “Cry Room”. It may be accessed from the hallway, and ushers will gladly direct you to it. It is a great place to take a fussy little one who can’t quite make it through the service, while still being able to listen to the worship and see through the one way glass.

Worship Bags

These are canvas bags with Children’s Bulletins, crayons, and books that are provided each week, and usually go along with the sermon. These keep little ones busy in church so parents are free to enjoy the service!

Monthly Events

Monthly events; such as movie night, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, board game night, bible scavenger hunt and art night; are held to promote learning and friendship.

Confirmation Class
For children in 5th grade or older, this class is held usually during the school year and covers the basics of the Christian faith.

Vacation Bible School
Held in the summer for ages Kindergarten through 5th grade. The whole church gets involved in this great week!
