Friends By Grace, a Southern Gospel trio made up of husband
and wife team Randy and Judy Melton and lead/tenor Lonnie Royal.
We were greatly blessed and entertained and are truly grateful
to Windell Baggett for asking them to be our guests of honor at
our infamous, annual November Drop-Pot Soup Bowl party. We used
to bring ingredients for the cooks to drop into the pot and make
one big pot of soup. However, the crowd is growing larger and
larger so now the soup is made in various homes and brought in
to the Fellowship Hall and then
served. Just the ticket on a cool November evening. If your not
there by 6:00 PM or shortly thereafter you may only get the
dregs!
Friends By Grace has been singing since 1998 and has, since
its start, devoted every word, every note, and every message in
song to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They told us that if
just one person was blessed by what they were singing that
evening, then they have done what God has asked of them. We were
assuredly all blessed. Each of us in attendance were there not
only for the soup and fellowship, but for the good gospel music,
too. Friends By Grace is GOOD Southern gospel music! There was
plenty of wit and humor rolled in between sets and songs too.
There were plenty happy moments when our Friends (especially
Judy) had us in stitches.
If you ever have the opportunity to hear Friends By Grace by
all means do so. You will be thoroughly entertained and blessed
with God's Word delivered to your spirit in harmonious, Southern
Gospel music.
