Christian Video Magazine is the result
of several conversations between Steve Hewitt, Editor-in-Chief
of Christian Computing Magazine, and George Temple, of
SermonSpice. In those conversations
they both discovered that they had the same passions to help
churches use video to enhance ministry. As a result of those
talks, they decided to partner together and create a new
publication designed to cover anything and everything related to
using video for ministry. Christian Video Magazine was born. The
first issue was sent to 100,000 in June 2008.
Christian Computing Magazine already had around 50,000
readers, and SermonSpice had collected 50,000 email addresses
from customers that had stated they would like more information
about Christian videos. Christian Video Magazine followed the
same distribution method that Christian Computing Magazine has
been using the past several years to distribute the magazine in
PDF format and send it as an attachment to the requesting
readership. By saving on the cost of print and postage, the
magazine can be offered free of charge to readers.
The purpose of Christian Video Magazine is simple. We want to
provide our readers with articles that cover everything about
using videos in the church, on their websites, and for ministry.
How do you use them? How do you stream them? How do you create
them? How do you project them? Where can you find them? Who is
creating them? How will they impact mobile computing? What about
background loops? And how can we make the best use of all of the
fantastic Christian music videos?
