Videos, Presentations and Recorded Audio

On our web pages you will find videos taken from recorded church services, clips of special music that have blessed our church family and of events that bring life to our church. Also there are audio clips (or podcasts) of sermons and music. From time to time there may be a special PowerPoint presentation added as well as other types of media. A broadband or hi-bandwidth connection is recommended for most of these files. Those that are "dial-up friendly" will be marked as such. Enjoy and be blessed. The use of technology to bring to you these words of worship and songs of praise are intended for God's glory and your blessing.

To increase your viewing pleasure, this month (July 2009) we have added a new video service where any member of the church family can upload a video of church fun, worship or business and make it available to all on this web site. For more information see below under Video.

Audio Clips (podcasts)

I'm starting with audio only clips of David's sermons. It is excellent teaching and bears repeating. These files can be loaded to an MP3 player, an iPod or burned to a CD to play on your car stereo. Whenever you NEED to hear the teaching of the Word.

Video
We have purchased a license for a new video uploading service named Our Church Videos. All FUMC videos will be processed and streamed from this site. Members of the church family go to the above web site, create their log in account and then upload movies related to church activities or people.

There are a number of available categories (they call them channels) to select from to where you will upload. Your video when approved, will be available for viewing as a streamed movie, no downloading or extremely-high speed connection required. I'll have a full set of instructions up in a couple of days.

Video categories include:

Sunday Services Contemporary Music Children's Ministry
Missions Youth Ministries Marketing
Sermon Only Meet the Staff Meet the Church Members
Testimonials Sunday School Fellowship Activities
Church Meetings Weddings Missionaries

More can be added as we see the need. The web pages will be edited to look just like our web site so it will be a seamless web experience.

View the following video OurChurchVideos.com Presentation to get an overview of how the process works. This video is a streaming video so you won't need a high-bandwidth internet connection. All the work is done on their server. Click this link to view a tutorial on the video upload process.

360° panoramic tours
of key places in our church.

If you have not seen these rotating visions of the Sanctuary, the Chapel and the Fellowship Hall, you are really missing something. Make sure you give the images plenty of time to download to your PC. You also must Have Java installed. It's free and accessible from Sun.

eBooks

I would like some feedback on this one. Would people download and read eBooks? They are free. You can read them on your PDAs or smartphones, too. It's just the thing for waiting at the airport, at the hospital or anywhere that you don't have a book or your bible. I have many versions of the bible, bible study books and religious text that are free and downloadable. Here's a start.

What You Need

  Movie Player

Media PlayerEveryone should have a Windows default media player. It comes and installs with Windows. It will play both the movie clips and the audio clips. If you don't want to mess around with anything, we'll just leave it there.

The default Media Player can be quite large and a resource hog. A smaller, full-featured freeware media player that I use as my default player is based on the old-style Windows Media Player. It's called MPlayerC (Media Player Classic). You can download and try it if you like. It will play QuickTime and Real files as well.

  Audio Player

Audio PlayerAny audio file presented on this web site will more than likely be MP3 files. The default media player will play MP3 files. So will MusicMatch, WINAmp, RealMedia and a host of others if you have then installed.

There are programs specifically designed for Podcasts. A podcasts is a series of mp3 audio files to which you subscribe. I'm not sure we will go that far, but we may.

For now, your media player will do the job.

  PowerPoint or PowerPoint Player

PowerPoint PresentationIf you have Microsoft Office installed there is a good chance you have PowerPoint on your PC. If you don't have PowerPoint, you can download the PowerPoint Player free from Microsoft and install it.

  Others

Java Software from SunFor the 360° panoramic tours of our sanctuary, chapel and fellowship hall, you must have Java installed. The latest version of Java can be downloaded from Sun free of charge. Instructions on their web site will step you through the install quickly and easily. Make sure you get the right download for your version of Windows.

This is just a start. much more to come!
