No log in or password is required for viewing videos. To get to the Viewing page for our church videos, just click the View button above.

First United Methodist Church of Irving offers the laity and staff a new service where we maintain an off-site video library. The stored videos are viewable on demand from this web site by clicking the View button above, then selecting the video. Since the videos are streamed from the off-site library server,

there is no need to download the movie and no long wait time
no super-fast internet connection required
the video starts up almost immediately
the video player is on their server.

The only requirement for you the viewer is to have the browser plug-in Adobe Flash Player installed on your PC. If you do not have the plug-in, the movie applet will prompt you with the download URL to install it. The plug in can be downloaded for free from Adobe.

Uploading

A video tutorial for video upload is located on the Iowa Conference web site. To upload videos, you must have a log in account with password set up and then be logged in. All videos uploaded must pass a screening process by an administrator before the are available for viewing. When you upload, an email is sent to our admin (currently it's Sammy) who will then review and approve your video for public viewing.

The videos do not necessarily have to relate to matters pertaining to our church. For instance proud grandparents can upload a video of their beautiful grandchildren or parents can create videos of there newborn child. The following are the categories (or channels as they call them) to upload your video to:

How Do We Use It?

How this can be used is only limited by your imagination and creativity. Right off we can use it for the church music and sermons that are recorded every Sunday. For the shut-ins with internet access and those out of town need not ever miss another church service. Sunday school classes, committees, church meetings, socials, revivals, homecomings, picnics, gatherings, Methodist dinners, mission testimonials, you name it, we can record it on video and upload it to our library and make it available to share.
