Joy Turner
Phone: 972-253-3531 extension: 23
Joy comes from a family of Methodist pastors, so it's
no mystery she met and then ultimately married David
while attending Asbury College - where soon afterward he became a pastor
as well! Over the years she has served in many different capacities in
David's appointed churches. Along with raising 3 children, Joy was a
Teacher, Church Secretary, Sales person, Director of the Northcutt
Immigration Assistance Center (sponsored by the E. Dallas Cooperative
Parish of United Meth. Churches), and in the early days, a Bookkeeper
for foodservices at Asbury College. She speaks Spanish fluently (way
cool!) loves to sing (very well I might add!) and is always delighted by
children.

Sean Cawthon

Sean Cawthon – B.S. DBU 1992 – Currently attending King’s
Seminary in Van Nuys, CA seeking a Master’s of Divinity – We have
worked in the church since 1991. We started as youth directors at
Crossroads UMC in Oak Cliff. We absolutely loved that time in our
lives and remember it fondly. From there we planted a church with
the Senior Pastor, Mario Hernandez and his wife Patricia. We took
over the music and worship department and I served as the Associate
as well. We wore many hats in those days and learned a lot about
people and the Lord. It was there at City Cross Church I received my
Ordination. A year later Heather and I felt the need to leave City
Cross and begin a small group in our home. We met for one year.
During that year Heather’s Grandmother (who lives next door) became
increasingly dependent and we decided to move in with her and help
take care of her. Subsequently we dissolved the small group and I
began a 6 month sabbatical. The Lord engineered a phone call and
subsequent meeting with Pastor David for the current Director of
Youth and Evangelism position and the rest (as they say) is history.
Heather Cawthon – B.S. Sociology DBU 1992 – M.A. Counseling DBU 2007
– She has birthed three beautiful children and nurtured and
developed their character since day one. They are: Zane 12, Savannah
10, Carly 7; and then there is our newest addition, Snowball (a ten
week old white schnauzer).
