First Methodist Irving was founded in Irving, Texas in 1908. The church grew with the town. By 1920 the town of Irving had a population of 397 and the church had 257 members. Shortly after WWI the church raised funds for a new church bell and that same bell has been ringing for almost 100 years!
Today First Methodist Irving provides Parents Day Out two days per week and Vacation Bible School to the whole community. The church weekday sack lunches (10am to noon Monday – Friday) for needy and homeless persons. We also actively participate with Family Promise, providing housing for at-risk families families in our community. Our Mission Outreach is a very important part of First Methodist Irving. We continue to support church members called as full-time missionaries and we have annual short term International mission opportunities.
