Music Ministries

Music is an active and exciting part in the life of First United Methodist Church, and there is a place for you in our Ministry of Music! Singing in a choir, no matter your age, creates community, and can help each person develop in their spiritual journey. These small groups offer fellowship and friendships while creating music for the glory of God. We have offerings for all ages, and welcome you to contribute to our worship.

“Above all sing spiritually. Have an eye to God in every word you sing.” John Wesley

The First United Methodist Irving Praise Band is made up of 5 members of the congregation, playing a variety of instruments, who are inspired to add contemporary praise songs to the service. Each song is selected with respect to the Sunday sermon topic. The band meets Sunday mornings at 8:45 am to rehearse and presents the music before the Message.
